Regatta On Wroxham Broad
Photographer: Payne Jennings, John (1843-1926)
Medium: Photographic print
“Regatta on Wroxham Broad. – This view gives an excellent idea of Wroxham Broad during Regatta time. The Regatta, or ‘Water Frolic’ as the natives call it, is the great water carnival of the Broads. It takes place in August, when it is patronized by great numbers of visitors, who are afloat in anything that will hold them, from the diminutive fishing-punt to the queenly 20-tonner with her snow-white sails.
The view presented has, thanks to Mr. Payne Jennings’ admirable timing, plenty of life and go in it, in fact the yachts appear to be on the move.”
