In 'Photographs of Old London' Alfred Marks explains that these photographs of Saint Bartholomew The Great aim "...to show the picturesque manner in which ecclesiastical and civil buildings are, as it were, dovetailed together in this quaintest nook of Old London." This photograph "...shows a Window at the east end of the Church and the Boys' School, built over the north aisle of the choir."
