Six Small Subjects
Photographer: Dixon, Henry (1820 - 1892)
Medium: Photographic print
The photograph at the top left is of a statue of Guy, Earl of Warwick, from a figure at the corner of Warwick Lane, London. Below it is a figure "of a boy on what may be a pannier" from Panyer Alley, Newgate Street.
"The figure of a Pelican is from the front of a house in Aldernambury....The figure of Queen Elizabeth is a relic of Ludgate.
Everyone will recognise the little figure of a naval officer taking an observation, as that of the Wooden Midshipman of Dombey & Son, removed a few years ago from Leadenhall Street to the Minories."
At top right is a relic of the City gates.
