“Filby Broad (Sunset). – Filby forms the most Southernly of the triumvirate of Broads lying a few miles N. of Yarmouth. Filby can be reached from Yarmouth by road in less than an hour, as it is not distant more than six miles from St. Nicholas’ Church. Of the three Broads (Ormsby, Rollesby and Filby) it is the smallest, containing only about 140 acres of the 610 acres, which the three total. It contains some good fish, and visitors frequently enjoy exceptionally good sport. The drive from Yarmouth by waggonette or trap is not the least enjoyable part of a day’s trip to this quiet Broad.”
Letterpress description by Ernest R. Suffling accompanying Plate XXXII from ‘Sun Pictures of the Norfolk Broads’.
