The Sands of Great Yarmouth, are, "for their length and breadth, almost without a rival in the kingdom, and form, of course, the great attraction for the thousands of visitors who annually gravitate to this pleasant spot. Here on a bright day in mid-season do the holiday makers disport themselves, and indulge in every variety of pastime and amusement, and for whom are found catering quite a little army of enterprising individuals, comprising Nigger minstrels, organisers of boat excursions, itinerant photographers, and last, though not always least, the purveyors of cakes, ginger beer, and shells, are strongly represtented, and do apparently a thriving trade."
