The Wellington Pier
Medium: Photographic print
The Wellington Pier, Great Yarmouth, "was erected in the year 1853 by a public company, at a cost of £7,000. It affords a select and delightful promenade, from which, whilst listening to the sweet strains of music discoursed by a military band, the line of beach may be seen, with its invading army of visitors on pleasure bent, disporting themselves; and also the magnificent roadstead dotted with vessels of all sorts and sizes, from the gigantic steamer to the little pleasure boat and shrimper."
