Prize-winning photograph in the 'Sea pieces or River Scenery' category of the 'Amateur Photographer' Monthly Competition No. 36, June 1892

"'Two Fishers' (W. H. Hawthorne, Wigtownshire - Bronze Medal). A very pleasing picture, marred only by the fact that the 'fishers' appear to be taking more interest in the photographer than in their fishing. An Optimus rapid rectilinear, working at f/22, was used, and an exposure of five seconds was given to a Castle plate. The winning print was on home-prepared rough paper, toned with platinum."
