"'The Last Resting-place' (P. B. Broomhall, Twickenham - Silver Medal). This picture, which depicts an old hulk rotting on the muddy foreshore of a tidal river, is deserving of the highest praise. The process of reproduction has, however, produced an effect quite different fro the original photograph. The bit of broken bank in the foreground is very helpful, and balances the composition admirably. We shall hope to see more of Mr. Broomhill's work in the future. He used a Ross' portable symmetrical lens, working at f/22, and gave an exposure of one second in diffused light to a Fitch film."
