A stuffed yak on display at the zoology and botany section of the reconstructed Crystal Palace exhibition hall at Sydenham. Designed by architect Joseph Paxton for the first universal fair held in Hyde Park in 1851, Crystal Palace was dismantled after the exhibition closed and reconstructed in south east London. It housed a national centre for the entertainment and enlightenment of the British public until it was destroyed by fire in 1936.
