View Of Railway Bridge From Cahir Castle
Photographer: Hemphill, William Despard

View from Cahir Castle, County Tipperary, looking to the north to show "the outer ballium of the Castle, the Island, and Weir, and the Railway Bridge, Church, and Schoolhouse. The railway girder bridge over the Suir is a very splendid modern erection, the railway, with lofty iron walls, being supported by eight beautiful polygonal piers of cut limestone, with battlemented turrets.
The church, designed by Mr. Nash, of London, was built in 1817, in the later English style, its square pinnacled tower supporting a spire of most graceful proportions."
