"Mr. Thomas Mansell, L.D.S. (Brikenhead), was awarded the First Prize - a silver medal - for his picture 'A Bright Winter's Morning, Bidston,' and which forms the subject for the frontispiece to this number of the Reporter. The picture was taken on December 21st, in bright sunlight, between twelve and one o'clock, using an 'Aptus' R. R. lens, f/22, 11/2 sec. exposure being given to a Mawson's backed plate. The print sent is on Aristotype paper printed under green glass."
