Medium: Print on paper
Music halls such as the Eden Palace of Varieties were popular venues in the 19th century. The entertainment traditionally offered included singers, comedians, conjurers, acrobats and jugglers, to name just a few. Halls catered for all classes of society and during this period developed from small taverns with stages to large and beautifully decorated theatres with fixed seating and varied programmes.
