This is a leaflet advertising the programme of events at Alexandra Palace in London. The Alexandra Palace provided the Victorians with many different kinds of entertainment. There were 196 acres of parkland, with landscaped gardens, ornamental lakes, fountains, a racetrack, cricket pitch and even a funfair. The building itself covered 7 acres of land and contained a Great Hall, an art gallery, museum, lecture hall, library, banqueting hall and concert halls. Organ concerts were held in the Great Hall, there were daily shows and exhibitions and thousands of people travelled to London to visit the ‘People’s Palace’.
