This leaflet advertises 'Minos' a performing dog. Performing animals were popular attractions during the Victorian period. They were trained to carry out feats such as balancing on balls, retrieving objects and seemingly to count at their owner’s command. Minos was capable of writing sentences, telling the time and identifying well known personalities. On the reverse of this advert Evanion has written June 1895, this is different to the date he wrote on the front of the leaflet, perhaps one date was when he collected the leaflet and the other was when he saw the performance.
