Advert for Brodie's Remedy for Corns
This is an advert for Brodie's corn remedy. Boots and shoes made and worn in the 19th Century would have been made from leather to ensure that they were very hard wearing. However sizes were not standardised in England until 1885 so often people would have to buy shoes that were ill fitting. Often if shoes were not worn out they were handed down to children and other members of the family. Corns and other feet problems must have been common.
