This is an advertisement for Jones sewing machines. William Jones began making sewing machines in 1859, he was joined by a partner Thomas Chadwick in 1860 and with a factory in Ashton Under Lyne, Manchester they traded as Chadwick & Jones. In 1864 Chadwick joined Bradbury & Co so Jones set up his own factory in Guide Bridge. The factory site is now a major railway station in Manchester. The firm were taken over by Brother UK Ltd in 1968.
