The Polyglot Institute was established in London's King William Street to provide language education for the middle classes. Popular European languages such as French, German and Spanish were taught alongside the more far-flung examples of Russian or Ancient Greek. The Institute also provided translations of letters or legal documents to the public and to businesses.
