This is an advertisement for a range of gifts available to buy at the Crystal Palace Exhibition, and highlights gifts such as writing cases, ink stands and book slides. There are also more technological gifts like the Galvic and Spirometer machines and the Magneto-Electric machine. The Crystal Palace exhibition held in 1854 was a large exposition and display of the wealth and display of the diverse artistic traditions of the different countries that made up the British Empire. Between 1854 and 1884 when the exhibition closed, over 2 million people visited Crystal Palace every year.
