Advert For E. Warne, Dairy Produce
Printer: Ellis, T. W.
Medium: Print on paper
Bottled milk was introduced by some wholesalers in 1884 to prevent adulteration (many farmers and shop owners were known to add water to the milk to maximise their profits) but the price of the bottles was too expensive for general use. Bottled milk was sold to some very wealthy families but most families had their milk delivered in small churns or bought milk from dairy stores in small cans.
