Before the 17th Century tea was a drink for travellers and merchants and it was not until the 19th Century that tea became a favourite drink with all levels of society. At this time there were many different varieties of tea imported from India and China, amongst them were Darjeeling, Assam and Ceylon. This tea seller is advertising that their store sells sugar as well as tea.
