The 19th century saw the establishment of new working and eating patterns in Britain's industrial cities, particularly London. The suburbs of London were growing, as the improved rail system made them more accessible to people who work in the city. As a result the railways offered a special low-price ticket for early-morning commuters, and many café’s offered special prices for breakfast. This café sold coffee and tea by the pint!
