Advert For Horsey's Brooms & Brushes reverse
Medium: Print on paper
This is the reverse of the leaflet.
This is an advertisement for Horsey’s brooms and brushes. Every household would have had a number of brooms used by servants (if the family was wealthy) to clean the floors, and the ladies of the house would have had 2 or 3 brushes of different strength to comb their hair. Before the development of glue these brooms and brushes had to be hand made. Tough horse hair was pulled through small holes in wooden handled brushes and was then looped and knotted into place. It could take a skilled brush maker 1 whole day to make just 1 good quality brush.
