In the 17th century, the site of this music hall was an inn known as The Great Mogul or The Mogul Tavern. It was renovated and renamed the Middlesex Music Hall in 1851, whilst retaining the tavern's liquor license. The New London Theatre, owned by Andrew Lloyd Webber, stands on the same site today.
