This music hall was opened by Charles Morton in 1861 at the junction of Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road. It was built on the site of the old Boar and Castle Inn. The theatre was beautifully and ornately decorated, with high ceilings, chandeliers, velvet curtains, sumptuous wall hangings and plush, comfortable seats. There was an enormous mirror at one end of the hall, where ;food and drink was served.
