Buddhist Cosmology
A folding book manuscript in 59 folds made in Upper Burma. It has tooled leather covers with paper labels dated Manadalay, 1886. The artist presents a liberally interpreted vision of the world, heavens and hells. The sun and moon are shown in their own pavilions, the sun being represented by a peacock on a red background, and the moon by a hare on a yellow background.
