This page comes from the 12th-century 'Samgrahaniratna Laghu Samgrahani Sutra', one of the principal Jain works dealing with cosmology, that is, the organisation of the three worlds and the place human beings occupy within them. It is replete with technical detail and rather abstruse calculations often made more accessible, as here, through vividly coloured illustrations.
