Grimm's Northumberland sketchbooks

Samuel Hieronymus Grimm made his living accompanying well-to-do patrons on their travels around England in the late 18th century, capturing their journeys in detailed pen-and-ink drawings. When Richard Kaye, his chief patron, became a Prebend at Durham Cathedral, Grimm set out to record the buildings and landscapes of Northumberland.
