When writing out the regular seven-line stanzas of this poem, the scribe accidentally left out a stanza, and therefore wrote it in the right-hand margin. When the book was passed to the decorator, he made a joke of the scribe's mistake, by painting a figure trying to pull the text back into its proper place using a rope.
