The Sixth General Council (also known as the Third Council of Constantinople) was held in 680-681, in part to resolve a theological controversy concerning the relationship between Christ's humanity and his divinity. Although written in Germany, this manuscript was at Bath Cathedral by the 10th century. This is a sort of title-page, written in lines of alternating red and black square capitals. A later reader, no doubt having difficulty die to the lack of word-division, has re-written the text in minuscules, between the lines of capitals.
