This page of the chronicle of the Premonstratensian abbey of St. Thomas (Becket), Hagnaby (Lincolnshire) covers the years 1154-1162. The page starts in the middle of an entry concerning the appointment of Thomas Becket as chancellor, and ends with one recording his election and consecration as archbishop of Canterbury; each is highlighted by means of a rubric in the left margin. The other rubric refers to Welbeck Abbey, another Premonstratensian abbey, while side-notes in plain brown ink, with arrows, refer to Scotland (Scotia) and Wales (Wallia).
