This manuscript was originally compiled in 1380 by Thomas Walsingham, the precentor of the Benedictine abbey of St. Albans, as a record of those who had made gifts to the abbey. After lists of gifts from abbots of St. Albans is a list of gifts from bishops. Here Richard De Bury is shown with three books, Thomas De Hatfield with a costly vessel, and Thomas De Arundell is pointing to trees, because he contributed four great beams of wood for building work.
