This treatise concerns how one may do calendrical computations using the joints and tips of the fingers of one's hands: it is illustrated with drawings of the hands, marked with numbers from 1 to 7 (i to vii) and letters from A to G, at these points. This section of the manuscript was written by a scribe called Salomon, a monk and later sub-prior of Christ Church, Canterbury, in the late 12th and early 13th centuries.
