This volume contains treatises on grammar, on how to write land conveyance documents, on astronomy, some sermons, and other miscellaneous texts. It has a medieval ownership inscription of the Cistercian Abbey at Fountains, in Yorkshire, and a medieval binding similar to other manuscripts from the abbey.

The only figurative decoration in the volume is this initial 'U'. The letter is executed in a silver coloured metal, finely tooled with a sharp pointed instrument. It encloses a depiction of Christ on the Cross.
