Jerome's Commentary on Jeremiah is one of the last books he wrote, but he died (in 420) before he could complete it. This copy has been attributed to Bath Abbey because it appears to be written by the same scribe as another manuscript, also in at the British Library, whose contents suggest an origin at the Abbey. The sharp angular tail of the decorated initial 'Q' on this page is very unusual, as is the quire signature consisting of a roman numeral crossed through in red, and enclosed in a red rectangle.
