Ranulph Higden (d. 1364), was a monk of the Benedictine abbey of St. Werburg, Chester. His 'Polychronicon' is a universal history, based on earlier writers, but extended down to his own lifetime. This copy has an ownership inscription of Simon Bozoun, who was prior of Norwich Cathedral Priory from 1344 to 1352. This page contains a list of books with the heading 'The books of Brother Simon Bozoun', followed by a list of 31 titles, each with a price to their right. The present manuscript is presumably the third from the bottom, described as the 'Chronicle of the Monk of Chester, with others. Price 20 shillings'
