Jerome's De Illustribus Viris (see f. 152r) was continued and brought up to date by Gennadius of Marseilles in the late 5th century.

The first three columns are mostly filled by a list of names from Paulonas to Gennadius himself; the follows the first biography headed by a fine initial composed of a dragon with a knotted tail, sprouting foliage from its mouth
