Another View of the Royal Charter School, on the Strand
Engraver: Jukes, Francis
Medium: Aquatint with etching, coloured
View of the back of the Royal Charter House school. Jukes, the engraver, writes the following lines about this aquatint,
‘…taken to give a better view of its situation, and the prospect it commands of the bay, and of the mountains, in the county of Dublin; and also of sugar-loaf hill, in the county of Wicklow, rearing its lofty head above those of Dublin. Dalkey-Hill is marked in the print, by one bird flying, Rochestown-hill and Mapa’s Obelisk, by two; and Killine-hill by three’.
