The Georgian mansion known as Chilton Lodge lies near Chilton Foliat on the border of Wiltshire and Berkshire. It was built in 1800 by William Pilkington. The classical style house is generously and spaciously proportioned and has a five-bay front with a giant portico and pediment. It sits on top of a hill in the midst of its rolling, landscaped grounds.
