View of Catterick Bridge in the Yorkshire parish of Catterick. It was built in 1422-5 but since then the medieval fabric has been covered by widening and resurfacing work to the bridge. Catterick is a village where there was once a Roman settlement. It is here that the Roman road Ermine Street crossed the River Swale.
