Traditionally, the Merchant Taylors have enforced the use of fair measures for the cutting of cloth in the city and at fairs. This hall was acquired by the company in the 14th century. It can be entered by narrow entrances on Threadneedle Street and Cornhill. This is the first courtyard or inner entrance to the buildings.
