North view of Dartmouth Castle in Devon. It is located about a mile south of the town and looks towards Kingswear Castle on the opposite banks of the River Dart. In 1481-94 the main tower of the castle was built. It has a polygonal look out tower which can be seen in the drawing. It also had very advanced gun defences for its time. Next to the castle is the church of St Petrox, an old church which was rebuilt in c.1641.
