St Mary's was the medieval parish church of Wilton, an important medieval town with a famous Benedictine nunnery, a number of hospitals and several parish churches. St Mary's lies in the town's market place. The nave, in particular, is ruined, but the chancel, which has an 18th-century ceiling, is still standing.
