View of the River Stinchar in Scotland. The river rises in Carrick in south Ayrshire on the slopes of Shalloch on Minnoch. The river flows through the Glentrool Forest and eventually reaches the sea at Ballantrae Bay. Knockdolian Castle, a 16th century tower house can be seen in the background of this sketch. The stone bridge over the river, was originally built in 1787, it was rebuilt and extended in the mid 19th century by Hugh and Bryce McCall, of Daltippan, Girvan.
