Date: 1748

Plan of the iron age hillfort, Hunsbury Camp, showing a mound, ditch and the enclosed space of the fort itself. This space spans about four acres, with only one entrance to the site. As this 18th-century drawing and caption shows, the site was thought to be an encampment place of the Danes, of "Sueno when he burned Northampton and Ravaged that part of the country".
