View of a bridge over the River Nedd or Neath near Bala in North Wales. The river has its source between Fran Fraith and Fran Nedd in the hills of the Brecon Beacons and flows until it reaches the Bristol Channel near Neath. The artist was Thomas Walmsley (1763- 1806). Walmsley began his career as a scene painter at the Opera House in London and is known for his dramatic use of colour.
