Remains of a Chapel at Town Malling, Kent
Medium: Ink wash on paper
This drawing was made in chalk or crayon on a wash background. The 'Town Malling' referred to in the title is the small Kent town of West Malling. The building shown here is most likely St Mary's, the local parish church. This building originates in the Norman era, but was extended in the 13th century and had its nave rebuilt in 1780/82.
