A watercolour of a house called Royle Hall which was situated in Habergham Eaves near Burnley in Lancashire. It is allegedly the seat of Sir H. Houghton. However the Houghton family of Lancashire were known to have their ancestral seat at Houghton Castle ( also known as Hoghton Tower). A 1598 Probate inventory names the owner of Royle Hall as Edmund Townley Esq. The Townleys were a landowning family who had several properties in the Burnley area. Royle Hall is no longer standing today.
