View of the River Dodder near the Ratharnham Bridge in Ireland. This river rises in the Dublin mountains above Bohernabreena and runs through the south of the city of Dublin, reaching the sea at Merrion Strand. The original wooden bridge at Ratharnham was destroyed by the flow of the river during floods in 1834. Another wooden bridge was quickly built to replace it but a stone bridge was not built until 1851.
