View of St Mary's the parish church of Datchet in Buckinghamshire. It has a medieval chancel, which dates probably from the 14th century and is faced with Tolternstone. As can be seen in the picture there is no spire, only a bell turret and small, basic windows. Datchet was situated on the banks of the River Thames, about two miles away from Eton. Due to its proximity to Windsor castle and the road to London and many Royal Courtiers and rich London merchants had homes here.
