Scene on the Serpentine, Hyde Park, on the night of the Grand Jubilee
Medium: Aquatint, coloured
The Great Fair of 1814 allowed Londoners to celebrate the end of the war with France. The highlight was a re-enactment on the Serpentine of several recent naval battles. This print shows one such re-enactment, "on the night of the Grand Jubilee Aug. 1st, 1814", complete with guns firing at 'French' ships.
